What is the difference between a scheduled flight and a charter flight?
Scheduled flights are marketed and otherwise operated directly by an airline in its own right, usually to a published routine, schedule. Scheduled flights usually include both regular carriers and low cost airlines.
Chartered flights are usually aircraft which have been chartered by an individual third party travel or holiday company. They may only operate once or twice a week and destination can vary depending on the time of year (on a seasonal basis). Most of the seats sold on this type of flight will have been included as part of a package alongside accomodation and extras like activities however holiday companies increasingly market-flight only deals so this isnt always the case
